I miss 4.2.1, it was really stable for me :(

I'm on 4.2.1, but because I have an iPhone 3, I guess I'm at the end of getting updates from Apple. Is this true, just wondering.

    Thanks.

Limiting iPods is just more admin for the consumer, which is tedious enough in the first place. Just stick to DVDs and appropriate software.

I don't make a living with Photoshop, but it is a pretty serious side activity of mine, and as I said before, for what it is, Photogene is perfectly adequate for the general iPad user.

Unless they can add color profiles, different colorspaces other than RGB (LAB, CMYK, et al.), Photoshop for professional use will never get off the ground on a device like this.

Not to say you should be able to do a complete workflow from import to print on a tablet device, which, at least for now, seems completely unrealistic -- but I would think pros need to be able to import, see colors in a reasonable approximation for proofing or showing to clients, and maybe make spot edits based on client feedback.

I honestly wasn't too thrilled with Photoshop Express, which is why when I saw Photogene, I was immediately impressed with is features.

I know in 10.4 you can enable the machine as an xgrid client. Can you run the server portion in 10.4 or do you have to have the 10.4 server?

iPulse (http://www.iconfactory.com/ip_home.asp) is a nice little app. I use it as a clock/system monitor.

"Using its concise and pleasing user interface, iPulse graphically displays the inner workings of Mac OS X on the desktop or in the dock. The entire user interface is completely configurable so you can turn off gauges you don't want, leaving only what you are interested in for easy viewing."

Nope. It is true. Warranty from date of manufacture from non authorized retailer. Seen a couple threads with angry people because of this. Apple took the date of manufacture because the buyer bought from ebay.

That game list takes me back. I remember getting an Atari 5200 for Christmas and spending plenty of time playing Missle Command, Breakout, Centipede etc... Even though I moved on to Nintendo the 5200 remains one of my favorite game consoles. Wish I still had it today.

To be honest, it's only another iPhone rumor to add to the mix. The idea that Apple is ploughing ahead with new models is nice, but let's wait for v1.0 first before we start speculating about 'new' features.

All this iPhone hype is a bit ridiculous. Remember that the iPhone, when and if it comes out, will be essentially identical to some current SonyEriccson phones, or even the LG Chocolate. Yes, it may have an apple logo on it, but it's almost certainly not going to be significantly new technology.

That's so he can look through it!

    Seriously, that's worth mentioning?

I was wondering if it was a functioning implant designed to restore sight or a non-functioning cosmetic replacement for a lost eye. I did a quick look and it seems the functioning kind are pretty rare so prob not.

I am impressed that someone with limited sight and/or no depth perception would be so good at designing things.

Scientific research is a pretty awesome goal, I hope he enjoys it.
