Anyone else thinks that Apple is readying the merger between iOS and MacOSX, at last?
I certainly hope not. I hate this merging of a phone OS with a real one. If that really happens (and I doubt it will anytime soon) I would jump back to Windows land and enjoy my new Apple gadgets for recreation.

Considering all the iOS elements in Lion - namely Launchpad - I can't see the homescreen grid layout on iOS devices changing anytime soon, but I hope for a lot of UI improvements elsewhere (e.g. notifications).

The 'L to R' problem ('ret's go') is when Japanese know they're trying to say an English word with 'L' and automatically think the Japanese sound would be incorrect so try to make it sound more like English. You're right that this state does have one of the highest deficits and tax rates for high incomes. However, if you look at the figures, despite the tax rate, Californians still earn more per capita on average than Texans. If you're looking to save money, it doesn't necessarily make sense to move.
Without going into the chicken/egg of it, Californians have to earn more since their housing costs are roughly 2/3 higher than Texas (per bankrate.com's cost of living comparison calculator as of this morning).
We earn less, but pretty much everything also costs less here.

Perhaps, but T-Mobile's major problem is coverage rather than saturation. (Although T-Mobile has filled in its gaps primarily with AT&T coverage agreements.) There aren't all that many people competing for AWS 3G service right now, even in places like New York and San Francisco, and that's precisely where the AT&T-only iPhone needs help.
That's why I tend to think an Apple MVNO approach would make a lot of sense, to stitch together T-Mobile, AT&T, and perhaps some smaller regional carriers into a single "best service available" iPhone/iPad network. An MVNO could better manage coverage gaps and high demand areas across carriers.

i can live with the fact that there are no native support for usb3 on the 2011 MBP - i just hope that there will be TP - usb3 and half decent expresscards34.. and apple do their part by providing the softaware support in the os

I do still suck.
My problem is leaving my camera on Auto. I just don't know which setting to use. The more I read and the more opinions I see, the more confused I get. Plus when I see a good subject I don't want to mess it up with my ill informed selections...
I did just buy the Bryan Peterson Understanding Exposure book, so hopefully that will help set me off in the right direction!

I've had anesthesia many times (too many times) four or five times via IV and once or twice with gas for various surgical operations. (Yeah, my health sucks.) I've never had any problems from the anesthesia though. You'll wake up very dry, your mouth will feel like a desert, but that's about the worst of it. I would imagine the pain you'll have from your back will probably be your main concern.
Depending on the operation being performed you might be out of it for several hours. I know for a couple of surgeries I had on my lungs - they were done in the morning and I didn't wake up until evening.

Um.. All of that looks the same. I really don't see many changes since Snow Leopard Server.. I will feel relieved as long as everything is still there. It all works pretty well once you know what you're doing.
I don't want to have to switch back to linux server admin... that's a nightmare.
More or less OSX server has always just been normal OSX with some server bits thrown in. Most of the packages are just open source unix/linux programs with a GUI on top.
You can install Apache and configure it yourself on a normal OSX install but.. I prefer the GUI rather then sort through httpd.conf in nano or vi.

This really doesn't make sense.
The word "Podcast" is derived from iPod, of course, but the CONCEPT of podcast is not inherently ipod-related. Because of that, it inherently dilutes the iPod trademark. You could just as easily call it an MP3-cast, and not have people be confused that it's coming from Apple (and the fact that Apple has been continually trying to trademark iPodcast itself for quite some time is another interesting bit of info).
The very fact that you're trying to have it cover Zune, Creative, etc. when it's derived from a specific product shows that Apple HAS to protect its trademark, particularly when another company is trying to profit from that name.
Well Steve Jobs has promoted the popularity of Podcasts, and how many are available right now from so many sources.

And yes, people could have called them MP3Casts, but using a slight derivation of the name of a very popular cultural icon shouldn't be wrong. I wonder how much Microsoft would love it if the whole world renamed their Podcast as "ZuneCast" instead?
