At 18 you are pretty much responsible for your actions, and your parents can't really dictate how you are suppossed to run your life. However if you live with your parents in their house, you have to abide by their rules. If they say no staying at girlfriends house while you live with them , well you have two choices, do what they say or move out on your own. I see no reason why two consenting and responsible people could not meet and have some fun as long as both parental units are OK with their kids screwing another kid in their house... and by kids I mean any age, no matter how old one is they are always a kid to their parents :)

I am trying to decide if you are serious. I suspect most people here understand what a cache is. I think most have a pretty good idea about cell tower triangulation. We are the people SJ is talking about. I'm not sure what the point about understanding technology is about - why do we NEED to know how a smartphone does what it does? It would be nice to understand what features can be turned off if we feel it is outside our comfort zone.
A user may not be bothered about his firewall, he wants it to do what it supposed to. Do you think that the average person would be happy that it sends a feed of the traffic back to the OEM to target the owner for advertising? I seem to remember Belkin had a similar issue some years ago and hurriedly rushed out a firmware update after it was caught.
There are a few Chicken Littles on this forum who masquerade as mind readers of Apples true intentions pertaining to the use of technical data but obviously need remedial education.
Hopefully it would enlighten them before they continually regurgitate their same tiring drivel over and over.

Microsoft is rock solid?
Let's see, as a 15 year IT worker who has supported many MS environments, I have been yanked out of bed at 2am 3 times because "new" viruses that the Anti-Virus software didn't even know about, had brought down hundreds of machines on the network, and had even brought down routers and switches.
I think the $100,000 we might spend on IPS/IDS blades for all the core switches to analyze the traffic coming from Windows machines might be better spent if we just put Macs in the network and maybe stick a free Snort box in there as an after thought.
Companies spend millions just keeping their Windows machines in line -thank about it. MS has never been serious about security.
Very Very interesting point. AntiVirus contracts/solutions (or lack there OF) is VERY costly as a day to day part of operations and productivity. YES Microsoft is part of the problem, but all these rogue developers trying to bring down microsoft & other corporations are also part of the problem.
I'm VERY interested to see just how much storage space virii definitions take up both on workstations & on server just in the drive to security & uptime.
Is it NOT AMAZING that in the last 20yrs we've come so far with regards to computing?!

Hey guys,
I've been searching around a few forums including this one but can't seem to find the exact information i require.
I currently have a 16bg 3gs with iOS 3.1.3 and the baseband version 05.12.01 that I jailbroke using Spirit.
I was wondering whether was any way I could update the OS to 4.1x or higher without losing the jailbrake? If so, how can I go about it? I unfortunately purchased a copy of Infinity Blade before realizing that it required 3.2.

Question...anyone know where i can change the SD card and jumpdrive icons in Candybar?
I thought they showed up in the Device pane when they were plugged in. Is that not how it works with jump drives and SD cards?

If Adobe priced this for $29.99 on the App Store I would buy it as a companion tool to PS CS5. But I don't think I would be using my fingers to work... I would incorporate a POGO Stylus.
What would be cool is if you could tap your left index finger and then the POGO to enable a "right click" for options.
I would be even more interested in an Illustrator for the iPad!
What I still want though is to be able to shoot tethered to an iPad. Has anyone heard of an app that will allow me to instantly see what I just shot with a tethered DSLR?

I know that there is an app/tweak that lets you set passwords and lock the apps but I have never heard of one that locks you in the app itself. Good luck!
P.S. - There is a thing that lets you create profiles on the ipad (like you would on a computer), so you can make a profile where you only have that one app (I think)

I couldn't believe how easy it was to use the iMovie '11 Trailers feature. It was a little bit strict, so I did have to export it, then import it to make some minor adjustments, but still, very simple.

One of several in rotation. I use SnowTunes for the dark menubar (among other things), DarkDock for the dark dock :p, and Float for the indicators. Bowtie provides the album artwork, and I have a matching Adium theme that I just hid so I didn't have to go in and blur out the names.

Yes, that is an issue for concern. However, how is this relevant to gay rights? Despite the birth rate in the UK being around 2 (1.96 if I remember correctly) there are, sadly, plenty of children/babies in need of a good home. Recently, the law was changed to ensure homosexuals would be able to adopted children if they want. Lesbian couples could also ask for a donor, and gay couples for a surrogate.
We need to move beyond the idea that marriage is about a man and a women reproducing. Firstly, it isn't about that. Secondly, there is no reason same-sex couples can't raise just as many children as heterosexual couples.

Perhaps I missed part of the new Google search feature in the new version of Safari, but isn't there an already-existing (and awesomely functioning :) ) Google searchbar in there? I'm still using Panther with Safari v1.3.2!
The new search feature is not a new Google search feature. I'm pretty sure what they mean is that you can search the text in the current page by typing and have a little find search box come up at the bottom of the window like it does in Firefox (rather than having a floating dialog box for find). One blogger mentioned it would work like spotlight and shade everything else so that the found search terms were highlighted.
