Wow, pretty crappy design. Rooms all in a row? What are those, military barracks?

Even the iphone has finally forgone the too simplistic approach of Apple, this house should learn from the iPhone.

Google should sort out their Android media player before trying to wangle record deals.

No gapless playback makes my iPhone 3G live to fight another day as an iPod.

Would someone who bought what they assume to be the newer
version of this display with improve brightness and contrast
please post part of your serial number.

Mine: 2A6211XXXXX (Xs represents the rest of my number)
    date of manufacture: May 2006

    Determined from the decoder at:
    http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

I'm trying to detemine if the one I just bought is in this new batch.
And if it isn't I want to return it quickly.
I have 15 days to return it and exchange if I don't want this display to the store
where I bought it (not from an Apple store).

    Mine is 2A6241XXXXX
    manufacture date: June 2006

I remember a girl/woman submitting such an app to Apple.

It was rejected on the grounds:

    'Not required => redundant'.

I see something changing now.

    And your option is...?

Personally, I'd like to know if the deletion that results from turning off Location Services results in slower response time when you turn it back on. Does turning it back on give you a sufficient download from the mothership to get you up and running again quickly?

I turn off Location Services frequently for a variety of reasons... battery life, roaming internationally, etc. I'd hate to have this non-issue result in slower GPS every time I toggle Location.

Bingo, where are the options? This is the thing with the cache. Five bucks says people will be complaining about poor Location Services performance after the update.

I don't get the fascination with a marginal bigger screen, if I need a bigger screen I get my iPad.

Its all about losing the border, and getting a marginless screen

Apple needs to start working on a new business model while the studios are still suing their customers and the TV boom is still on. If they dont they're going to be beaten overseas. Enough with the legal rhetoric damn it, evolve your business model or you'll lose.

Beaten overseas by who? Who is making it big selling TV shows overseas?

good lord, if anyone actually got through reading all this, can there be any doubt left that all consumers want is DRM-free content??? There's a simple rule that exists - the more complicated the DRM you put on your content, the less likely that people are going to buy it. Hence, people are downloading music and movies for free, and ripping Netflix DVDs to their hard drives to burn their own copies.

You can't put the genie back in the bottle. Until there's DRM-free movies and music for sale online, so-called pirated downloads will continue to dwarf legal downloads. End of story.

Wow, that's incredibly naive. People don't get free content because the free content is "simpler". It's because they're too cheap to pay. If people want no drm, they can just buy cd's and dvd's and rip them. People who download free content, or rip rented discs are just cheapskates who are stealing.

There IS DRM free music for sale online. And in contrast to your theory, people are still stealing it.

Whom are you kidding? Nobody cares that Fairplay's DRM is better than other DRM. Do you think it being "successful" (and that word ONLY applies comparing it to other pay services, not overall downloads) has anything to do with the fact that 70% of all mp3 players are ipods, and only work with the itms?

But if iTunes' DRM was annoying to users, it never would have made it to 70%. Users absolutely care about DRM. But they're not aware of it unless it's too restrictive or inconvenient - if you give them *bad* DRM they will totally notice it and hate it.

In other news, the pope today announced that he is Catholic. He also confesses to **** in the woods.

No really, I expect quite a number of those things, but then at the end one more thing that nobody expects, not a phone, not another iPod, but something radically different. Just like the games at the last Stevenote, only bigger, something that will make you go Huh? Wtf ? Wow ! :) Now where's that credit card? :D

    klaus,
so, based on your experience, we can still say the "new" 23s are junk? That really is upsetting.

I gave up on 23s a while ago, although I would really like the increased resolution. I agree with what you said, for the price we pay, we should get quality and consistency, (especially with a company that really pushes dual screen configurations) There is NOTHING more irritating than when the monitors dont "match"

Oh please! I think that statement would be better targeted at the people who engage in this childish behaviour. I was just the recipient, also they weren't total strangers, but they weren't people that I know either.

Also, quite a few people in this thread say that these phones are the same price, well one of the main points of one of these guys was that he paid 100 for his brand new Desire and is on a 18 a month contract. In all honesty, that is a lot cheaper than any iPhone deal out there.

Try going outside for some fresh air. Take a deep breath and enjoy.

It's nice that you enjoy your phone so much but there's more to life than sharing this love on internet forums.

Sunshine can be enjoyed just as much!

What a surprise, Tech Crunch got a story completely wrong

and more importantly the mentally blind apple zealots on these forums blasted Best Buy any way they could because of the story. It's pathetic how some people act like sheep.

Minimum wages = unemployment, lower growth
child labor laws = limits free will and opportunities for youngsters
max hours per week = limits free will, opportunity for higher personal revenue
workplace safety = bureaucracy, red tape, lower growth

Don't be naive. The goals are the same, more wealth, health, prosperity, and safety for all. Conservatives simply disagree with your methods. They realize that a hand-out is NEVER the same as a hand-up, and that wealth earned is not generally earned at the expense of others, but rather to their benefit.

Nope- these are all lies proven to be so during the industrial revolution. We know what business does when these things are left unchecked. And don't say the free market will take care of them. There is too much evidence from history to show it won't. And the goals are not the same at all. Business will take advantage of it's worker in a heartbeat if they're permitted.

BTW, the anti-gay segment has no business being in this bill. All politicians should realize that individual bills should be able to stand on their own two feet instead of sneaking them by in such a disgustingly snake-in-the-grass fashion.

Then prove it and come out against this bill. Or again, does it not matter since you got yours?
